I'm old and I still can't bring myself to even write that nasty word. First, I have never in my life touched one, this being the reason. ( I know there are alot of people that would agree with me)
When I was a little girl around 6, I was invited to my friend Stormy's house for a slumber party! I was soooo excited. We all were having fun, doing what all 6 yr olds do and having everyone's first slumber party! Well we had opened all of the gifts, ate cake and ice cream, we changed into our P.J.'s and went to play in Stormy's room. After playing around with some of her new stuff, she said that her Grandparents got her "the board" and asked if we would like to play with it. Of course everyone said yes, as we did not know what or how it could affect us. She brought it out of the closet and opened it up. I jumped up screaming and screaming for her to put it back and take it away. I just felt evil and almost violated is the best way to describe it. I just stood there screaming, and then her parents came running in the room, and they all explained what happened, I was still screaming and crying. Her Dad took it away and let me know that only he knew where it was and everything will be ok. I felt so much better once it was just away from my eyesight.(I really didn't even know what it did as she didn't say) So now I have these girls looking at me like I was crazy, and I am ready for "ghost stories" and the movie. No stories, but they moved us downstairs to watch the movie and fall asleep. My Dad came to pick me up that morning and asked what had happened. I told him. He told me that was the smartest decision and that was very brave of me. Then he told me what it was used for, how it was used and what could happen if in the wrong hands. :D Please never use "the board!"

I second that motion!

I don't believe the Ouija Boards themselves are the "portals", but I do believe they are a strong tool that channels the energy of the users.. and it usually never turns out good.

There are too many unknown forces out there in the universe to tamper with something blindly. Even in playing, I believe a person can definitely open something that he/she is not ready to handle, much less get rid of.

Ouija boards are definitely not a toy. I think it's best to steer clear!

I have always been afraid of the board, and I never knew why. My cousin bought one for a Halloween Party, but before the party started she toyed with it, and WHAM! She saw the movement. She gave it to her husband, and said get rid of that thing NOW!

The next day a female approaced her and said, I found this board in the middle of the road and immediately thought of you, that you might want it.

She took one look at it and said to her husband, "What did you do with that board", he said that he had just dumped it in the middle of a country road. She knew it was the same one-- she could tell by the newness.

Seems to me that Robin Williams did a movie with something along the same lines.

I agree with all that has been said on this subject. I have seen some bad things with regards to "The Board" in my childhood. No good comes from this being used in such ways as "play".

Oh, wow. I could tell stories about that thing that would make your hair curl. When we were younger it was one of our favorite things to do. One of my most vivid memories of the board gone bad was when "coincidentally" we were playing with it and the cat that lived in the house we were in attacked us. It hasn't attacked ANYONE in 12 years of life, but it was surely mad that day.
Maybe my past experiences with that directly relates to some of my more current experiences... I don't know. We were even so "brave" as to make our own back in those days. Not the brightest crayons in the box, that's for sure.

OOOOOhhhhh, BAD BOARD! I actually was not informed enough when I was younger and used one a few times. All that it took was the one time when the pointer went strongly and quickly to spell one name. I shall never even whisper that name and I haven't touched one since. You are supposed to bury them in the ground a certain depth (9 inches?) and LEAVE it be! :eye:
Yes, many negative experiences can "walk through you and take the ride home."
UUggg, bad board! Scrabble anyone? :toothy10:

Yeah i had it spell out some pretty horrible things to me too when I was in high school. Needless to say, I was one of those that burned it. I also brought a ghost into my house that tormented me every night at the same time. Lights flashing, coins flying through the room, and my poor dog who was scared to death. I will never forget it. I forced the entity out of my house but I never touched one of those boards again.

I have to wonder why they're still sold. We can't be the only ones who have had bad experiences...

I agree. I always have visions of Tawnie Kitane in Witch Board when I see them. I went with a few friends in high school to a very scary and very haunted cemetery in Pensacola. Actually it is in a little town called Chumuckla in Pace Florida. Right outside of Escambia County Pensacola. It is called Coon Hill Cemetery. Anyways There is a Granite headstone with the efigy of an angel on top of it. Made of wgite granite itself. Well for some unexplained reason it has turned a shiny black color. The cemetery itself is nowhere near civilization. If I had to guess I would say that it is about 12 miles into Black Water Natural Reserve. The road that you have to travel down to get to it looks exactly like the opening scene to the old TV show Tales From The Darkside. A very creepy setting for whatever goes bump in the night. There were only four of us because that was all that could fit in my Jeep ( CJ-7 ) ( the only kind worth having. You had to have 4 wheel drive to make it back to it because it is in the middle of a marshland.Which could be a reason for the color change in the granite. Now only the Angel turned colors. The head stone is still white. I think I have read of another angel efigy turning colors also. BUt anyways. In order to get to the cemetery from the turn off dirt road ( sometimes dirt road. Usually about 2 1/2 feet underwater ) is to park and walk almost 1 mile to the cemetery. Now if that was not crazy enough we brought along my friend Thayers grandmothers Ouija Board. Now this was not the parker brothers version. It was as board made completely of wood with the letters and numbers burned into it. It was claimed to be over 100 years old and came from Romania when his grandmother married her Palestinian Husband ( Thayers grandfather ). We made it to the cemetery and wandered around a little bit. When we came upon the angel resting on the headstone that was the spot we decided to use to try and make contact. I was the only one with any type of Paranormal knowledge so I had the group circle around and we recited the lords prayer and asked that our Guardian Angels watch over and protect us. After that we sat down and started using the board. Always being careful to make sure that no one person was ever in contact with the board alone. Well we messed around with it for almost an hour with no real outcome. We had a few slides of the planchete but it really did not spell anything. Then we moved it up a notch. We had a friend that had died from a shark attack about 2 years prior to this trip. They decided that they wanted to try and contact Jason. Well I really did not want to do it so I backed out of the circle wanting no part of it. They started off with the meaningless questions gradually asking the darker questions. I would say that after about 10 - 12 questions the planchette started going crazy. Thayer asked if the spirit moving the board was Jason and if he was in a good place. The planchette stopped on a dime. I mean it went from freaking out to no movement at all in a split second. Not 2 seconds after it stopped moving we heard a deep ,faint , voice that sounded like someone speaking while they had the air knocked out of them. It said one word and one word only." NO " !!!!! That was enough for us. we immediately packed up and left. I was careful to see if when we got to my jeep if there were any other vehicles out there. People do go mud riding through there an a super RARE occasion. No one, no vehicles and only my set of tire tracks in the mud. But, My sunvisors were down and both of my windshield wipers were bent straight out. To this day I have yet to use a board again and I always strongly suggest that others leave them be as well. First they are very unreliable tools as far as scrying is concerned because there is never any way to know who or what you have answering you. Also it is stated to be a strond means for a spirit to use for possesions. That is why it is always said that you should never use one alone , Parker Brothers or any other. The Parker Brothers game version is just as powerful as any other version. You can make one out of anything. In the past people have used common paper and chalk boards and have had just as much success as with the wooden ones. They say that there is a way to bless them to make them safer but to me I just don't feel comfortable with it. I steer clear of them myself. I hope my account made sense and I hope it freaked some of you out as much as I freaked out when it happened.

Haven't had anything that crazy other than a few strange words thrown at me that sorta weirded me out. I think Ouija boards are dangerous because it gives people the power to believe. People during their everday lives unless they have gotten into this kind of information do not believe in the paranormal, but through a device (like a placebo) it gives them the ability to believe in the paranormal thereby making spirits come out more I suppose. Also, people who use them are kids and younger people who don't know what their doing and have no protection skills...

You are absolutely correct. I agree also that belief , especially in the paranormal world, is a powerful thing. Yeah , I think that people buying these things to use as games really have no clue what they sre getting into. I just do not understand why it is a game and they make a killing off of selling them. All together just bad Ju Ju !!!! Good call !!!! You would think that it would at least come with a disclaimer or something. Like we are not responsible for any possesion or poltergeist activity that may come from the use of this toy !!! I should have been a lawyer. I missed my calling.

I couldn't agree more with you that the "O Board" shouldn't be used for contact or for paranormal investigations.Though many would say there is nothing wrong with it's use,I have personally witnessed the power that can be evoked from just playing around with it, let alone working with it in an atmosphere where known or reported activity has taken place. You may literally open a door that you can't close. AVISE LA FIN...Consider the end!
